How fast do electric bikes go?
It depends on the model of the electric bike. In the US e-bikes are divided into 3 Classes: Class 1 e-bikes are limited to a top speed of 20 mph, and the electric motor works only when the rider is pedaling. Class 2 e-bikes are also limited to a top speed of 20 miles per hour, but they have throttles that work when you're not pedaling. Class 3 e-bikes can go up to 28 miles per hour and must have a speedometer, but may or may not have a throttle.
How do electric bikes work?
Electric bikes work using an electric motor and a rechargeable lithium battery. You can use full electric to get around or PAS. PAS stands for Pedal Assist System. With PAS, you can still pedal the bike and get in some great exercise, but the electric motor will help, so you do not exhaust yourself.
